Leadership & Management

ADN is headed by His Grace Most Rev. Archbishop Anthony Muheria.

Through his appointment, there are offices under the office of the Archbishop that help him run the Archdiocese. These offices, known collectively as the Secretariat, are mandated with specific tasks that oversee the leadership and management of the clergy, parishes, enterprises and the Archdiocese as a whole.

The Secretariat

Vicar General

Very Rev. Fr. Charles Kiruri

The office of the Vicar-General is appointed by the Archbishop. Currently, the Archdiocese of Nyeri Vicar-General is Very Rev. Fr. Charles Kiruri. By virtue of his office, the Vicar General has the same executive power throughout the diocese as that which belongs by law to the diocesan Bishop. That is, he can perform all administrative acts, with the exception however of those which the Bishop has reserved to himself or which by law require a special mandate of the Bishop.

Moderator of the Curia

Rev. Fr. Stephen Munyogo

The principle task of the moderator is to coordinate and supervise the administrative affairs of the curia and to take care that the other members of the curia fulfill the office entrusted to them under authority of the Bishop. He heads the Human Resource office of the Archdiocese of Nyeri. The moderator, in conjunction with the director of communication ensures that diocesan operations are computerised upto the deanery and parish levels.

Finance Administrator

Rev. Fr. Boniface Mwangi

The Finance Administrator heads the Finance office of the Archdiocese. The mandate of the office is to oversee the overall financial management of the Archdiocese of Nyeri. Through this office, development strategies and projects are financed.

Vocational Director

Rev. Fr. Joseph Kathurima

The vocations office is tasked with the coordination of vocation animators and activities within the Archdiocese. The office also oversees the animation committees at the Diocesan, Deanery and parish levels. These committees comprise of priests, religious and the laity. Under the vocations office, open days for missionary and vocational animation are laid out in the General year plan of the church where all vocations are promoted.

Youth Chaplain

Rev. Fr. Benard Watoro

The youth office is the central coordinating office of all the youth activities in the Archdiocese of Nyeri.

Legal Advisor

Rev. Fr. Daviid Mutahi

The role of the Legal advisor and his office is to advise the diocese on matters with implication in civil law. The current legal adviser is Fr. David Mutahi who is a lawyer by profession. The legal office handles all the legal issues of the Archdiocese of Nyeri. The legal office also organizes programs to educate the faithful in civil law and the Kenyan Constitution, laying emphasis on areas that may confilct with the church law.

CARITAS NYERI Director

Rev. Fr. Stephen Ndungu

Caritas Nyeri is the development arm of the Archdiocese of Nyeri (ADN) whose main purpose is to enhance holistic development of the human person as guided by the Gospel values and the social teachings of the church. The overall direction of the organization is vested in ADN. The main office is situated in Nyeri along Nyeri-Mathari-Ihururu Road at the ADN Development Centre and has a satellite office at Nanyuki within the Premises of Nanyuki Catholic Parish.
